The phenomena of Coulomb explosion require the consideration of special relativity due to the involvement of high-energy electrons or ions. It is known that laser ablation processes at high laser intensities may lead to the Coulomb explosion, and their released energy is in the regime of kilo to mega eV. In contrast to conventional MD simulations, we adopt the 3D relativistic RMD method to consider the effects of special relativity in the conventional MD simulation for charged particles in strong electromagnetic fields. Furthermore, we develop a Coulomb force scheme, combining with the Lennard-Jones potential, to calculate interactions between charged particles, and adopt a Verlet list scheme to compute the interactions between each particle. It is found that the damage depth does not increase with repeated laser ablation when the pulse frequency is comparable to the duration of the pulse. Furthermore, we report the time evolution of energy propagation in space in the laser ablation process. The temporal-spatial distribution of energy indirectly indicates the temperature evolution on the surface of solid under intense laser illumination
The pulsed laser ablation in liquids (PLAL) is a rapidly emerging technique in material science for fabricating metal and metal-oxide nanoparticles. The advantage of this method over the conventional chemical methods is the lower cost, high purity and absence of defects in the formed nanoparticles (NPs). Systems of poly (n-vinylcarbazole) doped with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) that ablated by nanosecond laser at different laser parameters such as, time of irradiation, source power and photon energy (wavelength) were prepared and studied. Structural, optical, morphological and thermal properties have been investigated using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR), Ultra Violet - Visible Spectra (UV-Vis), Photoluminescence (PL), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Transmission Electron microscope (TEM) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA).

Laser thermal ablation (LTA) is an in situ ablative techniquethat induces heat destruction of liver tumours. Despite increasingclinical use of LTA, reports of long-term outcomes and limitationsof treatment in specific cohorts of patients with liver tumours arelacking. In addition, the mechanisms of action of therapy are notfully understood. This book highlights some of the clinical resultsand limitations of LTA in the treatment of colorectal livermetastases and examines its mechanisms of action. Overall, there isa high incidence of local tumour recurrence following thermalablation due to incomplete tumour destruction and regional andextrahepatic tumour recurrences. The mechanisms of action ofthermal ablation appear to be multifactorial with interplay ofseveral factors. An understanding and manipulation of the processesmay further ensure complete tumour destruction and reduce local anddistal recurrences.
