Progesterone: The Ultimate Women's Feel-Good Hormone answers why you're having those miserable hot flashes, why you're having those horrible night/day/all the dang time sweats. Educates you on the real reasons you're having "hormonal" migraines (and it's not a Lortab deficiency as most physicians think). Sleep better, feel sexier, and wake up happier. Reduce your risk of breast cancer, heart attacks, and strokes, and feel great doing it. Endometriosis is addressed in detail and how it's either a problem with low progesterone, or progesterone resistance (progesterone receptor problem) - NOT lack of a "laser ablation" or hysterectomy! Everything's fully referenced, nothing's made up, so you can defend your position with your own doctor, and quote the articles and studies and literature. If that doesn't work (and your doctor won't listen) Dr. Purser tells you how you can find a doctor to help you with getting natural progesterone or how to even find some over the counter. Dr. Purser lectures about progesterone all over the world and educates physicians on it and the public - he knows of which he speaks and this book makes it simple to see why. If you're suffering and feeling like garbage from your peri-menopause, get this book now and save yourself more sleepless sweaty miserable nights. It's time to take control of your health, because no one else will. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Dan Purser. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/023683/bk_acx0_023683_sample.mp3. Microwave Ablation of Breast Cancerous Tumor Using A suitable Antenna ab 45.9 EURO Antenna Design and Simulation
Cancer is a complex disease that is characterized by cell proliferation (uncontrolled cell division), cell transformation and an escape from apoptosis and these properties pave the way for invasion, angiogenesis and metastasis. Additionally, cancer has also emerged as a major public health problem in developing countries. According to the World Health Organization, new cases of cancer impairment will increase with estimated death rates of up to 11 million in the year 2030. Although in recent decades much progress has been achieved in respect of therapies, like surgery, chemotherapy, radiation or hormone ablation therapy, they are not successful in more than 50% of cases. Furthermore, for those who survive the risk of reoccurrence of the disease is a major problem. Breast cancer is one of the most prevalent malignancies among women worldwide. The existing therapeutic agents for breast cancer produce several side effects. Development of specifically breast cancer cell targeting drug without any side effect to normal cells is an ongoing effort in the field of cancer drug discovery. Cytotoxic chemotherapy plays a vital role in the management of patients.
Radiofrequency Ablation of Cancer: Current Indications, Techniques and Outcomes discusses the principles and techniques of safe usage of radiofrequency current for the treatment of malignancies. Throughout the text, indications and outcomes data are stressed.Edited and authored by pioneers in the field, the book features extensive discussion of RFA for hepatic tumors, including treatment of liver metastases from colorectal cancer, combined modality therapy for liver metastases, treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma with RFA, laparoscopic RFA, percutaneous RFA, and hepatic metastases from neuroendocrine tumors. In addition, chapters consider the emerging role of RFA in the management of primary breast cancer, primary bone tumors as well as metastatic bone tumors, renal tumors, and lung tumors. The principles and instrumentation as well as the imaging aspects of RFA are presented with comprehensive chapters on ultrasound, MRI, PET and CT by leaders in the field. Complemented by 90 illustrations, this text is the gold standard reference on the use of RFA in treating a wide variety of malignant processes. It will serve as a valuable reference for all physicians engaged in the care of cancer patients.
Microwave ablation (MWA) is one of the emerging technologies in the treatment of liver, lung, prostate and breast cancers. This study is aimed at simulating an appropriate frequency for breast cancer ablation with a suitable microwave antenna. The antennas for breast cancer MWA were designed using the Finite Element Method (FEM) software in COMSOL MULTIPHYSICS version 4.4. A total number of four antenna types were designed and simulated of which 3 of the antennas were selected based on the variation in their reflection coefficient, total power density and Specific Absorption Ratio. The result shows that frequency affects power dissipation into the breast tissue. Compromising between power dissipation, reflection coefficient and diameter of necrotic tissue, simulated monopole antenna with radiating length 8mm operating at 6.61 GHz produced better and efficient power dissipation into the breast tissue. Such suitable frequency is significant to meet the dielectric property of the tissue (breast) needed to achieve a better coagulation zone with minimal injury to surrounding normal tissues or cells.
This book describes the latest autologous fat transfer techniques used in connection with wrinkles, breast augmentation, breast reconstruction after ablation, middle face augmentation, scars, chronic wounds, gluteal augmentation and rejuvenation of the hand. All autologous fat transfer techniques, such as BEAULI, Coleman, Shippert, and Khouri, are explained with regard to successful transplantation and reinjection.Further, the book includes chapters on patient prerequisites, patient education, treatment documentation, and objective post-treatment assessment of the outcome using volumetric documentation. The practical presentation of the information, together with a wealth of illustrations, makes this book a valuable guide for plastic and aesthetic surgeons, dermatologists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, gynecologists and all other specialists in aesthetic surgery who offer reconstructive or aesthetic autologous treatments.
Image-Guided Cancer Therapy: A Multidisciplinary Approach provides clinicians with in-depth coverage of the growing, dynamic field of interventional oncology. Combining the knowledge of expert editors and authors into one powerhouse reference, this book looks at tumor ablation, HIFU, embolic therapies, emerging technologies, and radiation therapy throughout the body (liver, bone, breast, gynecologic and prostate cancers, to name just a few) , and includes discussion of different imaging modalities. In the words of Peter Mueller, MD, author of the book's Foreword:"... The senior authors are all world renowned experts in interventional oncology, which is another example of the high quality authorship and experience that is brought to this book. The later chapters discuss therapies that are simply not covered in any other source. Everyone who is doing or wants to do ablation therapies and interventional oncology will face a time when they will be asked to use their expertise in less used and less investigated areas. There is nowhere else where the reader can get information on the prostate, breast, and gynecologic areas, and especially pediatrics....This book is an outstanding contribution to the literature and will become a 'must read' for all physicians who are interested in Interventional Oncology."
